Mirraco Bike Serial Number
Based on a report from the South Yorkshire Police, they received a report of a stolen BMX with 'mbi-2325' as the 'serial number' in 2010. Seems to be a mistake in that was a frame model and the serial number is one of the other values. What bike serial numbers are - and where to find them.

STOLEN BIKE LAST NIGHT
We have never been so disgusted in our lives.Never had an issue of worry or theft on Magnetic Island, but we leave this bike in Townsville, Breakwater Marina for 2 nights & it has been stolen.My 14 year old has worked hard to pay this bike off. TO THE SCUM BAG THAT HAS STOLEN THIS BIKE, YOUR FACE WILL BE ON THE MARINA CAMERA FOOTAGE, POLICE WILL BE NOTIFIED THIS MORNING. I would suggest doing the right thing, and bring the bike back to the marina ASAP.

STOLEN Giant Bicycle Southport CABL2745
Large frame 2017 giant talon 3 bicycle stolen Monday night (Feb 4) from our secure basement. They used a bolt cutter or angle grinder to cut the lock. Has been reported to the police and all bike shops and cash converters have been notified. This is our mode of transport to and from work so it's a major inconvenience. If you see anything, please send a message. Serial number is CABL2745.

STOLEN FROM KURRAWA PARK 11 APR PM Electric Bike
Stolen gold electric bike with blue panniers. Has helmet and bike pump. Stolen under security cameras so please return to Kurrawa or Police ASAP. Used due to leg injury so as the owner I’m pretty upset. $50 reward.

Description
On a BMX bike you can be a kid no matter your age. Freestyle superstar Dave Mirra knows that better than anyone. He’s won gold medals every year of the X-Games, Disney’s extreme sport competition. Still going strong in his thirties, he started racing when he was 5. No wonder Mirraco Bike, the company he founded in 2006, says, “Start ‘em young” and sells a version of their competition-winning Black Pearl model in an 18” size for kids. BMX means Bicycle Motorcross, and kids in California in the 1970s started the sport when they put knobby tires and motorcycle handlebars on their Sting Rays to imitate motorcycle dirt racers. Soon after, a group of San Diego teenagers involved with an early BMX magazine started performing outrageous bike tricks at a concrete skateboard park, and Freestyle was born.
Freestyle riding isn’t about transportation, and it isn’t about speed. It’s about wowing spectators by performing stunts on the edge of disaster. The sport is worldwide and has 5 categories. Mirraco sells bikes for them all. The bikes are small with 20” or less wheels and 20-22” top tubes. Some have pegs at the ends of axles, some have only rear brakes, and some have no brakes. All have low centers of gravity and need to be strong, even the lightweight models for park (skateboard park) tricks, where riders get airborne. The company sells a street bike called the Wallstreet that was designed by a NYC member of the international Mirraco competitive team. Street riders play with obstacles, from a curb to stairs to the handrails on those stairs. Mirraco also sells models for dirt jumping, where riders bunny hop across mounds they’ve built on trails. Their flatland bikes for performing on flat asphalt or basketball courts have low gears, because the rider doesn’t have to go fast but needs to ride out of a trick without toppling. Then there are the vert bikes; that’s Dave Mirra’s speciality, where two ramps face each other and the rider goes from one to the other flipping and flying, and, as Mirra says, “throwing tricks you would only think possible in a video game.” Vert bikes are built heavier for control.
Mirraco bikes are available in a wide range of prices for newbies to competitors and distributed by Trek Bicycles. Dave Mirra uses his considerable fame for charitable work. He hosts a golf tournament, donating the proceeds to a different charity each year.
